The following Interview is brought to you by ceoworld.biz.
ceoworld.biz: What’s your Jobshout.co.uk founding story?
Steve Gibson: We had had a job board for ages, but it just didn’t work. So we decided to do the job ourselves. That’s how Jobshout began.
Like so many recruitment sites, the Workstation site had a back-end database of jobs that prospective applicants could search, but it just wasn’t search engine friendly. And it certainly did not make the most of all the opportunities that recruitment companies have to do really well on the web. After all, search engines love content, and that is what job ads have in abundance – lots of lovely, juicy, relevant content, which can make your site perform really well, if it is properly presented.
ceoworld.biz: What does Jobshout do?
Steve Gibson: Jobshout lets people who are recruiting online – in other words recruitment and staffing agencies, and other organisations who want to advertise their vacancies on the web – quickly set up a job board, with their own branding and the look and feel of their own website. They can then publish it under their own domain name, or on jobshout.co.uk.
The beauty of Jobshout is that it is very quick to set up, there are no setup costs, and it is a hosted service, so there is no software to install or maintain. Publishing a job on the web becomes the work of a couple of minutes, and in the process Jobshout does the sort of work that a web expert would do to ensure that your job stands the best possible chance of being found in searches on Google, MSN, and so on.
Finally, Jobshout lets you know how you are progressing.
ceoworld.biz: What are your goals for 2007 through 2008?
Steve Gibson: To make Jobshout the biggest name on the web for hosted corporate job boards.
ceoworld.biz: How would you say Jobshout is different from other competitors?
Steve Gibson: I would say that we are way ahead of any of our direct competition. Jobshout is in the unique position of having been designed by professional recruiters with decades of experience, in collaboration with software engineers who really do know about getting content found on the web. And, crucially, it is a hosted service, backed up by a high level of customer support, especially at start up. That combination, together with Jobshout’s feature set, makes all the difference.
ceoworld.biz: Who is a typical partner?
Steve Gibson: Small to medium sized recruiters, or the HR department of a larger organisation. Anyone, in fact, who has upwards of a dozen jobs to advertise at any one time. Companies can potentially save very significant amounts of money in advertising and fees through using Jobshout.
ceoworld.biz: How do they typically drive traffic?
Steve Gibson: Well Jobshout is an organic SEO tool. As well as making it easy to publish content, it also helps it get found. So the main way of driving traffic is getting found in relevant searches.
ceoworld.biz: What do you recommend to people who are new to your site?
Steve Gibson: If you would like to have your own job board, then sign up for our two month free trial. There’s nothing to lose and everything to gain, and you will find that we really do go out of our way to make the process easy for you..
ceoworld.biz: How does Jobshout make money?
Steve Gibson: Purely through the monthly payments of people who find Jobshout an incredibly useful, timesaving and effective recruitment tool.
ceoworld.biz: Can you please explain about online content management system (CMS)?
Steve Gibson: Content management systems are designed to automate, as far as possible, the process of publishing content on the web. Firstly, they de-skill the job, so that you do not need technical knowledge to do it. And secondly, they take the drudge out of what would otherwise be a pretty boring and picky task.
Jobshout is different in that it is a CMS specifically for recruiting. You can actually use it to publish content to your main website or intranet as well, but its main job is to get your jobs on the web and get them found. However, it also gives you statistics and other information that is incredibly useful to recruiters and really helps you monitor performance and estimate results.
ceoworld.biz: Your last comment on Jobshout.
Steve Gibson: The main thing about Jobshout is that it brings results and should pay for itself many, many times over. You really can start to see your jobs in the top search results on Google.
